Dreamscape Concrète ~ 2013

Dreamscape Concrète is a sound and light installation which physically consists of 25kg of blue phosphorescent polyester resin broken down into pieces. An 'HSS' hypersonic speaker rigged with UV LEDS hangs mounted overhead reflecting 15khz of fm tones off the multiple flat surfaces of the rubble. The result is a fizzing sensation emerging from the rocks and creates and auditory illusion while you walk around the work. The work as it names suggests attempts at a Concrete Dreamscape, a synthesis of Sun-Ra and Piere Schaeffer through the sci-fi futurism/folk culture of Detroit techno's sonic fiction. The work has been on display at The London College of Communication as well as recently the Science Museum as a part of 'Living Machines', an exhibition on biomimetics.
